One word. One pretend mic. A room full of people who suddenly remember every song. Gaana Grab is a Bollywood singing race where a quick grab only counts if you can back it up.

Players: 3–7 people total: one non-playing host and 2–6 individual competitors.

What’s in the box: 80 double-sided cards with 160 words. Bring your own pretend microphone, such as a remote or soft household prop; a microphone is not included.

How to play

The host reveals a word card where everyone can see it, away from the grabbing area. Race to grab the pretend mic, then sing two lines of a recognised song containing that word. Get it right and keep the card. If you freeze or get it wrong, you are out for that card and the others can try. Do not repeat a song during the game. There is no timer. Play through 80 cards using one side; the most cards wins. Save the reverse sides for another game.

What the game brings to your gathering:

Songs you grew up with, a mic up for grabs, and performances only your family could give.

With Gaana Grab, look forward to:

  • Remembering songs from car rides, family parties and the films you grew up watching.
  • Grabbing the pretend mic with complete confidence—then trying to remember the next line.
  • Seeing family and friends turn a familiar song into their own little performance.
